Useful Roofing Preparation & Installation Tips

When removing old shingles, you must inspect all decking for split or broken decking
City code requires one air vent per 1,000 square feet of roofing
Install 15-lb or 30-lb felt paper
Install synthetic underlayment with 6 nails per shingle no more than 5 5/8 inches from the bottom of the shingle
Never use staples on fiberglass or asphalt shingles
